IFC Medical Raises $8.5 Million VC Round

PLYMOUTH, MN -- Nanotech company IFC Medical said it secured $8.5 million in new investment from northern California-based venture capital firms.

IFC uses nanotechnology to modify the surfaces of medical devices, improving their efficacy in medical procedures and surgery applications by potentially preventing tissue from adhering to medical instruments and devices.

Investors in the round included Integrity Partners and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.  The round was the first known financing event for the company.
